For, although the Regents Ring is a very different experience from Wagner in the opera house, the intensity and involvement is remarkably undiminished and even enhanced. […] With the cycle’s 150th anniversary approaching in 2026, Regents Opera’s Ring is the only British performance of Wagner’s cycle about power and renewal this year. Hats off to them. With deluded megalomania so topical right now, this Ring could hardly be more timely.
